The Need

Most pastors in developed countries and urban environments have a seminary education, a personal library, access to bookstores, and a network of experienced pastors they can call for support.

By contrast, most pastors in rural East Africa are unable to go to college or seminary. They own few books, and they have few opportunities for growth and development.

This has serious implications for the work and ministry of the Church.

How we help

We provide pastors in rural East Africa with well-suited ministry resources to help them preach the Gospel clearly, teach the Bible accurately, and lead the Church effectively. With study guides and teaching plans built in, these resources are designed to develop among pastors a culture of reading for the long-term good of the Church.

The right books, in the right hands

Our books are produced with the needs of real pastors in mind. They are:

  • biblical and orthodox
  • enhanced with study guides
  • simple and brief
  • affordable

Pastors’ fraternities, colleges, churches and individuals across Kenya are ready to help us distribute our books. In this way, we will get resources to the pastors who need them most, and who desire continuing education and mentorship. Through a growing network of pastors engaged in lifelong learning, we aim to maximize the long-term impact of our books.

Johann Ludwig Krapf

Rev. Dr. Johann Ludwig Krapf (1810-1881) was the first Protestant missionary to East Africa, and a celebrated linguist. Krapf described himself as “a teacher” and “a book-man,” and we hope that the resources we provide will build on his legacy by equipping pastors in East Africa to carry on the work of Gospel ministry.
