About Us
Our Ministry
The Krapf Project was born from Aaron Dunlop’s experience as a missionary in rural Kenya.
During his time there, he saw the need for resources and mentorship.
His burden increased as he spoke with pastors who were struggling in their ministry without adequate resources and without practical methods for studying and retaining information.

The project’s name comes from Johann Ludwig Krapf (1810-1881), the first Protestant missionary to East Africa, as well as a celebrated linguist
Though mostly unknown in the English-speaking world, Krapf’s name is still revered in East Africa.During his time there, he saw the need for resources and mentorship.
Local memorials, monuments, and museums in his honor bear witness to the Church’s debt to him. Krapf described himself as “a teacher, a book-man” who aimed to show Muslims and followers of tribal religions “the right way to salvation in the world to come.” So we think his name fits our ministry perfectly.
In 2022 Aaron Dunlop published a biography of Krapf with H&E Publishers, the first English biography published in seventy years.
